I merely wanted to know if there was a thematic connection as to why it would give +1 blue heart and +1 luck, because if there is no thematic connection there, they could have literally attached that effect to any item that could be imagined, so why a "latch key"? It improves all the contents of all the treasure chests, "unlocking" all the extra goodies that Mom (the boss) hid. Mom's key effect makes thematic sense, the graphical sprite is the same as the "boss key" from Legend of Zelda : A Link To The Past. the parents give the child keys to the house so that when the kid comes home from school and the parents are never home, they can get inside the house.ĭad's key effect makes sense, it open all doors. I am fully aware that it drops 2 additional keys, but I chose not to focus on that effect because that effect makes thematic sense, i.e. To be fair, many of the items in the DLC have lackluster effects. I was inquiring about the origin of the item, not starting a discussion about the usefulness of it. If you want to discuss the possible origin and inspiration for why they created this item, your input is welcome. And you didn't answer my question at all.Īsking the question "is it really that significant?" is not the same thing as making the statement "it is not significant at all.", as you seem to think.
